We are now offering scholarships for the annual conference for the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama (ASGPP) and the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA).

Scholarships for the Annual Conference of ASGPP

Our vision is that every student in psychodrama, sociometry or a related field who wants a scholarship for the annual conference of the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama (ASGPP) will get one, so that everyone who wants training can participate in conferences and workshops, and that finances will not stand in the way of anyone wanting training.

These scholarships are supported by the JUDY SWALLOW SCHOLARSHIP FUND, the LAUREL TRAINING INSTITUTE SCHOLARSHIP FUND and the JACOB AND ZERKA MORENO FOUNDATION. Please apply here. If you have questions, email us at [email protected] with SCHOLARSHIPS in the subject line.

To apply, please write a statement of

your interest in attending this conference and learning about psychodrama, sociometry, or a related field,
the applicable work you have done, are doing or hoping to do, and
your financial situation and how much additional registration money you need in order to attend the conference. Be sure to include your name, address, phone and email address.

Please have two letters of reference uploaded on this website or sent to us by email or US MAIL.

Please have these materials submitted by March 1 of the conference year. Our committee will review your materials and mail a check to you made out to ASGPP, representing a full or partial scholarship from the Foundation, by March 15, or sooner if we get your materials sooner.

Scholarship Award for the Annual Conference of AGPA

The American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA) announces a new endowed scholarship from the Jacob and Zerka Moreno Foundation for Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy. The endowment will provide support to a psychodrama student who would not otherwise be able to attend the AGPA annual conference, and who demonstrates both promise and passion for the theory and practice of psychodrama and sociometry.

This scholarship will introduce psychodrama students to the therapeutic expertise at AGPA Connect and the AGPA culture of compassion; we also want to inspire you to contribute to the visibility of psychodrama within AGPA, perhaps one day offering your own workshops in psychodrama and sociometry. The award is amazing—it covers your full conference registration, and offers a stipend for hotel and travel for one student every year in perpetuity.

Scholarship Description

The Jacob and Zerka Moreno Foundation honors the legacy of the founders of psychodrama, group psychotherapy, and sociometry. The scholarship will be given to a psychodrama student who is in need of funding in order to attend AGPA Connect, has attended at least four psychodrama workshops facilitated by certified psychodramatists, and who shows promise and passion for the theory and practice of psychodrama. The award covers registration costs for the full six days of the conference and offers a stipend to help with hotel and travel expenses.

Application Instructions

You may apply for this scholarship for AGPA CONNECT through the AGPA website. Two strong recommendations, preferably from certified psychodramatists, will be required.
